White Island, for the press
The world’s first JRS game: a survival game with no predefined actions. You don’t pick from a list. You decide.

What it is
You were shot down while flying and fell into the sea, near a small island. There are no tutorials, no map and no list of things you can do. In any other survival game you ask yourself what the game lets you do; here, how you’d do it in real life. The game doesn’t know how to “chop down a tree”: it knows how much a log weighs, what an edge does and what happens when something falls. The rest is up to you, and whatever goes wrong stays that way.
Surviving comes first: drinking, eating, sheltering from the night. Then comes getting out of there. With whatever you find you can build a raft, and beyond the island there’s a whole archipelago. And the question that won’t leave you alone: who shot you down, and why.
White Island is made by one person, with an engine written from scratch for it: JRS (Just Real System). It’s being made in full view of everyone: every week, what’s new is shared in the devhub.
