Cookies
Cookie policy
In short: this website doesn’t set cookies, neither for advertising nor for tracking. The little that’s stored in your browser is what it needs to work, and that’s why you don’t get a banner asking for permission.
What’s stored in your browser
They’re not cookies: it’s the browser’s own storage, which doesn’t travel anywhere with each visit.
- Your session, if you sign in. So you’re not asked for your password on every page. It’s deleted when you sign out.
- Your name and photo in the header. To show them as soon as the page loads, without waiting. They’re deleted when you sign out.
- What you’ve read in the community. To highlight what’s new in each channel.
And for the length of the visit, things that are deleted on their own when you close the tab: the code of whoever invited you, if you came through their link; a random number to count visits without knowing who you are; and the odd notice one page leaves for the next.
Other people’s
- Stripe sets its own on its payment page, to keep payment secure. Only if you buy, and under its own policy.
- Google, on the sign-in and sign-up pages: the “Continue with Google” button is loaded from Google, which may use its own cookies there, under its own policy.
Visits
They’re counted without cookies and without your IP address. Exactly what’s counted is in the privacy policy.
How to delete it
Signing out deletes the session. Everything else you can delete whenever you want from your browser settings, in the site data.
